The major research areas of the NRW School of Governance comprise the research activities by Prof. Dr. Karl-Rudolf Korte and his chair “The political system of Germany and modern theories of the state, the chair for “Politics in Nordrhein-Westfalen” (Univ. – Prof. Dr. Andreas Blätte ) and the chair for “Ethics in Political Management and Society” (Univ. -Prof. Dr. Christoph Bieber ).
The NRW School of Governance connects researchers with a focus on government research, and thereby extends the research beyond the Department of Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. An important outlet for our research results is the political science publication portal www.regierungsforschung.de. The research activities at the NRW School of Governance are pooled into five different areas:
- Modern governance and political management;
- Party research and decision making processes;
- Elections and voters;
- Policy-learning and policy-advise;
- Language, media and communication.
